Volleyball Set to Host Iowa State for Weekend Matches

First meeting between two programs since 1992
CHICAGO – DePaul volleyball returns to the court on Friday, March 12 for the first of two matches on the weekend against Iowa State. First serve at McGrath-Phillips Arena is set for 2 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Scouting Iowa State
Iowa State returned to the court this spring after playing a Big 12-only schedule in the fall. The Cyclones are 6-10 on the season and went 5-9 in conference play. Last time out, Iowa State was swept by then-No. 24 Marquette on Feb. 27. Junior Right-Side Eleanor Holthaus leads the Cyclones with an average of 3.10 kills per set. Junior outside Brooke Andersen adds 2.70 kills per set to go along with 2.14 digs per set. Izzy Enna leads the back line with 4.35 digs per set.
Series Stuff
Friday and Saturday mark just the seventh and eighth meetings between the two programs with the last coming in September of 1992. The Cyclones lead the overall series, 4-2. The Blue Demons are 1-1 in Chicago in the series.
Last Time Out
DePaul finished its road trip last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Blue Demons were led by a double-double from freshman Jill Pressly with 18 kills and 16 digs. Emma Price aided the DePaul attack with 12 kills hitting .360. Rachel Krasowski notched a match-high 18 digs while Donna Brown had seven blocks, including four solo.
Pressly Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Jill Pressly was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week as announced by the league office on Tuesday, March 9. Pressly led the Blue Demons in kills and points over a three-match stint last weekend. In a win over Northern Iowa, the rookie outside hitter tallied 18 kills, a career-high 16 digs and three service aces to lead DePaul. The Plano, Texas native averaged 2.42 kills per set, 2.33 digs and 2.83 blocks in a 1-2 weekend for the Blue Demons.
