Blue Demons and Golden Eagles kick off at 6 p.m. CT at Valley Fields in Milwaukee
CHICAGO - DePaul men's soccer heads to Milwaukee, Wis. on Wednesday to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles at Valley Fields at 6 p.m. CT. The Blue Demons (2-3-2, 2-3 BIG EAST) are coming off of a 1-0 overtime defeat against the Butler Bulldogs at Wish Field on Saturday afternoon. Prior to the match Saturday, the Blue Demons had won two consecutive BIG EAST matches over Xavier and Creighton.
DePaul matches up with the Golden Eagles (6-1-1, 3-1-1 BIG EAST) for the second time this season after a 3-1 Marquette win in Chicago on March 6. Marquette sits atop the BIG EAST Midwest Divison standings after back-to-back 2-1 wins over Xavier and Creighton. The Golden Eagles' lone loss of the season came in double-overtime against Creighton back on February 20.
Marquette leads the all-time series in the matchup with a 28-6-1 record against DePaul. The Blue Demons last win came on November 21, 2017.
DePaul heads into the match looking to improve to .500 in conference play this spring. The Blue Demons currently sit in fourth place within the Midwest Division but are still within striking distance of the top two division spots with three conference games to play.
The Blue Demons have been led offensively by leading scorer Jake Fuderer who has tallied three total goals this season. Senior Timmy Iscra has transitioned from his regular defensive role, scoring a pair of goals last week to spark wins at Xavier and at home against Creighton. Iscra scored goals in back-to-back games for the first time in his career and has tallied eight shots this season. DePaul will look to beat Golden Eagle goaltender Chandler Hallwood who is coming off of BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
