Dalgarn, Scalzitti Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Pair of seniors lead DePaul to 2-1 week
CHICAGO – DePaul's Krista Dalgarn and Angela Scalzitti have earned a spot on the BIG EAST softball Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the league office on Monday.
In a 2-1 week for the Blue Demons, Dalgarn and Scalzitti were instrumental in the squad's success.
On the mound, Dalgarn went 1-1 on the week and threw a complete game in a 2-0 setback at Villanova. The senior pitcher picked up a win in relief on Wednesday as DePaul scored five runs in the seventh inning to beat Northern Illinois 6-5. Dalgarn tallied three strikeouts in two appearances and tallied a 1.83 ERA.
Scalzitti batted .429, tallied three hits and drew three walks across three games. The senior center fielder registered her eighth double of the season in a 3-2 win over Villanova. Scalzitti ignited the DePaul scoring onslaught in the seventh inning in a victory over Northern Illinois with an RBI single.
DePaul (16-8, 7-1 BIG EAST) returns to the field on Tuesday, April 13 for a non-conference matchup at Illinois State set for 5 p.m.
