DePaul Track & Field Returns to Action in Terre Haute

The Blue Demons compete at the Gibson Invitational on Friday and Saturday
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field will head to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Gibson Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Blue Demons head south again after competing at the Tom Botts Invitational at the University of Missouri last Friday.
The Gibson Invitational will occur over two days at the Gibson Track & Field Complex in Terre Haute. Day one will see the Blue Demons compete in the weight throw, 200m dash and 5000m run. DePaul's Kiersten Walker will run the 200m on the women's side after logging wins in the 400m in both of DePaul's 2021 meets.
DePaul's Alex Murray and Ben Litwin will participate in the hammer throw on Friday after posting personal-best marks last week at Mizzou. The men's hammer throw will kick off Friday's slate at 2 p.m. CT.
In Saturday's action, Mackenna Orie will be competing in the women's shot put and discus. Orie was named BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week back on April 6 after setting a school record in the shot put at the Louisville Invitational. Orie also set a new personal record in the discus in Louisville on April 3.
On the men's side, DePaul has a strong grouping set to run the 800m. Shane Knanishu is coming off a personal-best performance in the 1500m last Friday and will join three other Blue Demons including Ben Lee. Lee finished second in the event at the Louisville Invitational and won the race at the Blue Demons lone indoor meet of the season.
