Blue Demons Return to South Bend for Meyo Invitational

Track and field readies for first two-day meet of season
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – DePaul track and field heads to South Bend, Ind., for the Meyo Invitational this weekend at the Loftus Sports Center, hosted by Notre Dame from Jan. 30-31.
Familiar Territory
This weekend marks DePaul's third visit to South Bend during the 2026 indoor season. Across its first two trips to the Loftus Sports Center at the Blue & Gold Invitational and the Notre Dame Invitational, the Blue Demons combined for eight event victories, multiple school records, and dozens of personal and season-best marks, establishing consistent success at the venue early in the indoor slate.
Last Time Out
DePaul track and field enters the Meyo Invitational following a record-setting performance on Saturday, Jan. 24, where the Blue Demons secured six event victories and multiple program marks.
The women's squad was led by Isabella Orozco, who captured the 1000m title in a personal-best 2:49.17 to set a new school record, while Katelyn Welsh continued her historic season in the pole vault by clearing a personal-best 3.60m to reset her own program record. Additional event wins came from Sade Miller in the 60m, Claire Dunn in the 400m, and Jaiah Hopf in the triple jump.
On the men's side, Daniel Fasasi claimed first place in the 400m with a season-best 47.42, a top-50 NCAA mark, while the 4x400m relay team added another victory to close out the meet. DePaul also recorded several personal and season-best marks across both track and field events, capping a strong showing in South Bend.

During the Blue Demons' 2024-25 appearance at the Meyo Invite, Jaiah Hopf led the way in the field events, winning the women's long jump with a mark of 5.80m before breaking her own school record in the triple jump at 12.76m. In the throws, Jaiden Gary captured the men's shot put title with a throw of 17.37m, while Alex Bernstein secured first place in the men's weight throw at 19.76m. DePaul also posted strong middle-distance performances, as Lauren Pacsi and Amelia Montgomery both recorded personal-best marks in the women's 600m, with additional season-best times and top-five finishes rounding out a productive weekend.
