Orozco, Welsh Lead Record-Setting Day in South Bend

Blue Demons secure six event wins on Saturday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – DePaul track and field posted a record-setting day at the Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday at the Loftus Sports Center, highlighted by program marks from Isabella Orozco and Katelyn Welsh along with six event victories.
The women's side produced several strong performances, led by Isabella Orozco in the 1000m, where she won the event in a personal-best 2:49.17 to become DePaul's new record holder. Kalina Urbaniak followed with a third-place finish in 2:51.11, also surpassing the previous school mark. Sprint success came in the 60m as Sade Miller captured the title in 7.48, while Claire Dunn added another event win in the 400m with a time of 55.26. In the 60m hurdles, Amy Carhee placed second with a personal-best 8.63 and Aisha Kazeem finished third in a personal-best 8.79. The women's 4x400m relay of Kazeem, Nadja Moll, Lauren Pacsi, and Dunn placed second in 3:53.24.
The men's track group added two event wins on the day. Daniel Fasasi captured first place in the 400m with a season-best 47.42, while the 4x400m relay of Bello, Smith, Ortiz-Velasquez, and Bryan followed with a victory in 3:17.65. In the 60m, Alex Long-Craine finished fourth in the final at 6.93, with Myles Money placing fifth after posting a personal-best 7.11. Harper Bryan recorded a season-best 8.58 in the 60m hurdles prelims before finishing sixth in the final.
History continued in the women's field events, led by Welsh in the pole vault. Welsh cleared a personal-best 3.60m to place second, resetting her own school record for the third time as DePaul's first women's pole vaulter. Jaiah Hopf added an event title in the triple jump with a mark of 12.32m, while Eveline Reno placed second at 12.09m. Aubrey Phillips tied for third in the high jump at 1.56m, and Elena Opp recorded a personal-best 16.38m in the weight throw.
The men's field athletes were led by Quinton Boyd, who placed fourth in the weight throw with a season-best 17.26m. Sergio Ayala added a sixth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 14.48m.
