DePaul Drops their Final Away Game of The Season
VILLANOVA, P.A. – DePaul women's soccer falls to Villanova in their final away match of the season 1-2, after the Wildcats scored off a penalty kick in the last ten minutes to take the lead.Â

The Wildcats (4-8-3, 3-5-1 BIG EAST) dominated the field at the start of the game, generating four shots in the first six minutes of the match. In the 9th minute, Villanova scored off a penalty kick to get on the board. The Wildcats continued to put up shots, but defenders Sydney Parker, Maria Nordness and Olivia Beam put a stop to their advances. The two teams continued to go back and forth for the remainder of the first 45 minutes.Â

In the second half, DePaul (3-12-1, 1-7-1 BIG EAST) rushed Villanova's defense. Lina Dantes' relentless attacking paid off when she was fouled in the Wildcats' box, earning DePaul a penalty kick in the 51st minute. Katie Godden seized the opportunity and scored the equalizer, clinching her seventh goal of the season.  The two teams continued to battle it out on the field until Villanova was awarded another penalty kick. The Wildcats connected to take back the lead in the 81st minute. With nine minutes left on the clock, the Blue Demons fought hard until the end, but could not respond to tie the game.Â
