Hopf and Terry Break Records, DePaul closes Blue Demon Holiday Invite

DePaul finishes their first home meet of the season
CHICAGO - DePaul track and field completes their first home meet of the 2022-23 indoor season on Friday at Gately Park.
Jaiah Hopf cracks her previous triple jump record, breaks the Blue Demon Holiday Invite record and program record with a new distance of 12.53 meters. Jarel Terry followed up, breaking the 300m dash record with a final time of 34.14.
The Blue Demons closed their holiday invite with two first place finishes. Freshman Eveline Reno claimed gold and set a new meet record in the women's high jump after clearing 1.71 meters.
On the oval, sophomore Darius Brown set another meet record after placing first in the men's 60 meter hurdles with a final time of 7.87.
Cameron Attucks also fought for a silver finish in the 60m dash, finishing with a time of 6.81.
Senior Tori Carroll came in second place with a final time of 7.64 in the 60m dash.
In the throws competitions, Billie Martin came out of the gate hot and earned a second place finish in the weight throw. She completed a final distance of 18.41m.
