Brooke Johnson Selected to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Johnson led the conference last week with eight RBI on three home runs
CHICAGO – DePaul softball junior first baseman Brooke Johnson has been selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Blue Demons at the plate at the Torero Classic last weekend.
Johnson totaled five hits on the weekend, three of which were home runs. The Chino Hills, Calif. native led the league with eight RBI last week including a solo-shot and grand slam in a 13-0 win over Iowa in five innings. Johnson saw an average of .455 across five games and reached base at a .538 clip.
Two weeks into the season, Johnson leads the Blue Demons in seven offensive categories including batting average (.455), slugging (1.045), hits (10), home runs (four) and RBI (12.) Johnson has drawn four walks and struck out on just two occasions.
DePaul (5-3) will hit the road for the Knights Classic in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 25-27. The Blue Demons will meet Oakland and Florida on Friday before facing Ole Miss and UCF on Saturday. The final contest of the weekend will see the Blue Demons take on the Rebels on Sunday morning.
