Blue Demons Set to Host BIG EAST Track & Field Championships

The two day meet will take place at Gately Indoor Track and Field Facility in Chicago's south side.
CHICAGO - DePaul is set to compete at the BIG EAST Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Gately Indoor Track & Field Complex in Chicago. The meet will be the first indoor conference championship action since the conclusion of the 2019-20 indoor season. The action at Gately begins at 10:30 a.m. CT on Friday.
Heading into the BIG EAST Championships, the Blue Demons have a handful of individuals ranked highly among conference competitors. On the women's side, Tori Carroll ranks second in the BIG EAST in the 60m dash while Kiersten Walker holds the second-fastest time in the 200m dash. Meanwhile, Walker's 400m time ranks third in the BIG EAST. In the field events, Carroll ranks third in the long jump while Casey Mulvey holds the second-best weight throw mark in the BIG EAST.
For the Blue Demon men, Cameron Attucks holds the third-fastest 60m dash time in the conference, closely followed by Dominic Cole and Myles Marshall. In the 60m hurdles, Ashton Colaire and Darius Brown rank second and third, respectively. DePaul's Jason Montano holds the top spot in the conference heading into the championships, leading the BIG EAST with a 17.06m mark in the shot put.
On Friday, Esther Aldana, Jetta Mays and Carroll, who beat her own school record in the 60m two weeks ago, will be running the 60m dash. In the field, Billie Martin will be competing in the weight throw after taking first place at the GVSU Big Meet. Noelle Malkamaki and Mulvey will be competing alongside her.
On the oval, Ashton Colaire will be running the 60m Hurdles after topping his previous school record at the GVSU Big Meet. Other athletes competing against Colaire in the event include Darius Brown and Marshall. Friday's field events will have Alex Bernstein, Thomas Goggin and Ben Litwin competing in the weight throw.
