
DePaul Drops Matchup with UCF 2-0

Blue Demons total four hits but can't push any runs across
ORLANDO, Fla. — DePaul softball dropped a narrow contest to Central Florida 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Knights Classic.
The Knights totaled six hits while the Blue Demons tallied four on the outing. Brooke Johnson led the way with a pair of hits while Skylor Hilger and Tori Meyer recorded one apiece.
The third inning marked the best offensive chance for DePaul (5-7) as the Blue Demons left the bases loaded after Riley Pool walked before Hilger and Johnson reached on base hits.
UCF (10-5) struck first in the bottom of the fifth after a pair of hits and a walk. A sacrifice lineout to right field plated a runner from third to take a 1-0 lead.
UCF added on in the sixth inning on a pair of hits and a SAC lineout to push the score to 2-0.
Sarah Lehman fell to 2-3 on the season in the loss in five innings of work. Natalie Halvorson threw one inning and surrendered one run and a pair of hits
DePaul closes out the weekend with a rematch against Ole Miss on Sunday at 8 a.m. CT.
