Aneesah Morrow breaks 11 conference records including her 13th BIG EAST Freshman of the Week award
CHICAGO – Aneesah Morrow finished off the BIG EAST season just like she started---as the dominant freshman player in the conference.
The All-American candidate won a record 13th BIG EAST Freshman of the Week award on Monday, shattering the previous mark of 10 held by Connecticut legend Maya Moore, Georgetown's Natalie Butler and current Villanova junior Maddy Siegrist.
Morrow concludes her first BIG EAST season breaking a total of 11 records (conference games only) in scoring and rebounding. Included in that treasure trove of accolades is becoming the first player ever to sweep Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors three times.
Encapsulating a memorable regular-season run, the 6-foot, 1-inch power forward set new standards in:

Rookie season total points (469 in 20 BIG EAST games)

Saving the best for last, Morrow led the Blue Demons to a 90-84 victory Sunday at Creighton with a career-high 41 points while adding 18 rebounds for good measure.
She was two points shy of the BIG EAST all-time scoring record of 43 held by Creighton's Jaylyn Agnew and Louisville's Angel McCoughtry. Morrow is now tied for the second-highest mark in DePaul history behind only Beth Hasenmiller's 42 points in 1991.
For the week, the former Simeon All-Stater averaged 28.5 points and 16.5 rebounds while shooting 55.3 percent. She has 23 consecutive double-doubles and an NCAA-leading 26 on the season.
Morrow enters the week leading the nation in field goals, rebounds, rebounds per game, offensive rebounds per game and double-doubles. She is third in total points and fifth in steals.
Seton Hall's Lauren Park-Lane was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after averaging 24 points and 12 assists while shooting 57.1 percent including 53.3 from deep. The junior guard matched a 31-year-old BIG EAST single-game record with 18 assists to go along with 17 points in Tuesday's win over Butler. She followed that with a game-high 31 points in a win at DePaul on Friday night.
