Aneesah Morrow Earns 11th-Consecutive BIG EAST Weekly Award

All-American candidate named to Honor Roll after averaging 18 points and 13 rebounds
CHICAGO – The BIG EAST announced its weekly awards on Monday, and for the 11th consecutive week, DePaul's Aneesah Morrow was singled out for her performance.
After winning every single Freshman of the Week honor since week one, Morrow was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after averaging a double-double (18 points, 13 rebounds) with 17-straight double-doubles and 20 on the season which leads the NCAA.
The 6-foot, 1-inch All-American candidate has swept the league's Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week awards three times---which has never been done before. Her current total of 10 Freshman awards ties for the all-time record with Connecticut legend Maya Moore and Villanova's Maddy Siegrist---this week's BIG EAST Player of the Week.
Connecticut's Azzi Fudd was selected as Freshman of the Week.
In addition to double-doubles, Morrow leads the country in total rebounds, rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game. The former Simeon All-Stater is second in the nation in field goals, third in total points and fifth in steals.
In her last seven games, Morrow has 175 points and 115 rebounds---an eye-popping average of 25 points and 16.4 rebounds.
It's no wonder she is among the top 20 last-season candidates for the coveted John Wooden Player of the Year Award. Morrow is the lone freshman among the front-runners and the only BIG EAST player.
The Blue Demons have a pivotal game on Friday journeying out East to challenge No. 8/9 Connecticut in a BIG EAST showdown that will be televised on SNY.
