Vito Tonejc Selected BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week

No. 1 singles standout is 9-0 in the dual-match season
CHICAGO – Vito Tonejc earned his second BIG EAST weekly accolade on Thursday when he was selected as the conference's Male Tennis Player of the Week.
The reigning BIG EAST Player of the Year continues to have a strong 2022 season. The junior from Zagreb, Croatia pushed his winning streak to nine last Saturday as the Blue Demons defeated Georgetown 6-1.
In No. 1 singles, Tonejc took care of the Hoyas' Kieran Foster, 6-1, 6-4, to help fuel DePaul to the team victory.
Along with an undefeated record in the dual-match season, Tonejc is 17-6 overall.
Tonejc and Marino Jakic were honored Feb. 2 as the BIG EAST Male Doubles Team of the Week. They are 8-2 in dual matches and 13-6 overall.
Tonejc and his teammates travel to North Carolina this weekend to take on Davidson on Friday and Charlotte on Saturday. Charlotte is ranked No. 49 this week in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Top 75 national poll.
