Blue Demons welcome Middle Tennessee State to XS Tennis Village
CHICAGO – DePaul will be shooting for its fourth win in the last five matches when it welcomes Middle Tennessee State to XS Tennis Village on Sunday.
Coach Marisa Arce's team had beaten Northern Illinois, Butler and Georgetown during this recent stretch and lost to Purdue.
In those three victories, the Blue Demons (4-4) have outscored their opponents by a total of 18-3.
Leading the charge is No. 1 singles star Yuliya Kizelbasheva who is 5-1 in the dual-match season and 12-8 overall.
Eleanor Nobbs is also 12-8 overall and an even 4-4 in duals. Marija Jovicic is also at .500 for the dual season at 4-4.
Arce's singles lineup will be bolstered if talented Hristina Djokic continues in her recovery from two seasons of injuries. The freshman from Belgrade, Serbia began playing doubles only and won her first singles match last week against Georgetown.
The doubles lineup takes its cue from the No. 1 tandem of Lenka Antonijevic and Kizelbasheva who are 4-2 in duals and 13-6 overall. Djokic and Jovicic are 4-2 in duals.
Middle Tennessee (9-8) is coming off a 5-2 loss at UIC on Friday.
