Conference foes set to meet for the first time since 2019
CHICAGO — DePaul returns to BIG EAST action on Friday for the first of three games schedule against Seton Hall at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field in South Orange, N.J.
The series opener is set to get underway at 2 p.m. CT with Saturday's contest scheduled for 12 p.m. The weekend finale is scheduled for 11 a.m. All three games will be streamed live on FloSports with live stats found here.
The Blue Demons and Pirates will meet for the first time since the 2019 season as the 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19 and in 2021 the series was canceled due to COVID-19 issues within one of the programs. The weekend series proves to be a critical one as the Pirates are a half-game back from the BIG EAST Tournament field while the Blue Demons are looking to make up some ground sitting 2.5 games from fourth-place Villanova.
DePaul enters the weekend set 14-18 on the season and 2-6 in league play. The Blue Demons have won three of their last four games including taking a pair of games from Villanova and claiming a 16-6 win at UIC on Wednesday.
Seton Hall saw a reprieve from conference play last weekend and took the short trip to Manhattan for a twin-bill. The Pirates won the pair and head into the weekend a game over .500 at 14-13 and 4-5 in conference.
The Blue Demons hold the all-time series over the Pirates 27-6 and have won the last four meetings, outscoring the Pirates 29-13 in that span.
