DePaul to Play in Inaugural Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off

Blue Demons to meet Maryland, Pitt and Towson Nov. 25-27
CHICAGO –The DePaul women's basketball team will travel to Fort Myers, Fla. Nov. 25-27 for an early-season test as participants in the inaugural Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off. The Blue Demons join perennial contender Maryland alongside Pitt and Towson to make up the four-team field for three games in three days at Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
The Blue Demons open the action on Thanksgiving weekend with a clash against Maryland on Friday, Nov. 25 with FS1 and FS2 providing the television coverage. Tip-off is slated for 10 a.m. CT. The two programs have met just once previously in a matchup at the Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge in November of 2001.
Saturday, Nov. 26 will see DePaul face former BIG EAST opponent Pitt for a 1 p.m. tilt. November's matchup will be the 13th meeting between the two programs, the Blue Demons are 8-4 all-time against the Panthers.
Head coach Doug Bruno and his squad will close out the weekend against Towson on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. The weekend finale marks the first time the Blue Demons and Tigers will square off. Towson is led by former Maryland standout Laura Harper in her first season at the helm of the program.
The Blue Demons return seven letterwinners from last season's NCAA Tournament team while welcoming in seven newcomers. Second Team All-American Aneesah Morrow alongside Darrione Rogers and Kierra Collier headline the returning core while transfer guards Jade Edwards and Anaya Peoples return home to Illinois to suit up for the Blue Demons.
The 2022-23 season is set to get underway on Wednesday, Nov. 9 when American visits Wintrust Arena. Game times and coverage for the entire non-conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
