DePaul Men’s Tennis Compete in Day One of the Vredevelt Invitational

Blue Demons play in WMU's annual tournament
KALAMAZOO, MI. – On Saturday morning DePaul men's tennis entered their third tournament of the season, the Vredevelt Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University. Three players, Lars Peder Minsaas, Shourya Verma and Sven Moser were selected to compete in the two-day long competition.
The day began with the first round of doubles. Verma and Minsaas fell to WMU 6-3. Moser teamed up with Rothchild from Cleveland State to play Navy. The split team lost 2-6.
Verma lost his first singles match of the day to Butler's Brennan 6-3, 6-3. Minsaas competed against Nguyen from Navy and won 6-4, 6-4, giving the team their first win of the day.
Moser gained another victory for the Blue Demons after he conquered Gedlitschka from Cleveland state 2-6, 7-6(4), 12-10.
In the second round of singles Verma fell to Alvarez from Chicago State 1-6, 2-6. Minsaas trailed behind WMU's Boone 3-6, 4-6 and Moser lost to WMU's Schlueter 2-6, 7-6(4), 10-12.
Tomorrow the competition continues, starting with the second round of doubles at 8:30 a.m. and then singles in the afternoon.
