Morrow earns weekly honors for sixth time this season

NEW YORK – DePaul sophomore forward Aneesah Morrow was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the second time this season and fifth time in her career on Monday after leading the league in scoring and rebounding last week.

Morrow averaged 31 points and 14.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Blue Demons. In a win over Providence, she recorded a 29-point, 19-rebound outing while adding four assists and three steals. In a narrow setback to then-No. 21 Creighton on Saturday, she tallied game highs of 33 points, 10 rebounds and five steals.

Through 15 games this season, Morrow is averaging 26.3 points per game to rank fourth nationally, while her 11.9 rebounds per game rank seventh. With two more double-doubles last week, she now has 11 on the season – third-most in Division I.
