
DePaul Completes Blue Demon Alumni Classic

Blue Demons Earn 13 First Place Finishes
CHICAGO - The DePaul track and field team successfully closed out its third meet, and second at Gately, of the season, after playing host to 13 teams for the Blue Demon Alumni Classic on Friday evening.Â
DePaul ended the day with thirteen first place finishes out of the 24 events they participated in.Â
Billie Martin, Noelle Malkamaki, Alex Bernstein, Jason Montano and Jaiah Hopf conquered the field events, earning gold in the women's weight throw, the women's shot put, the men's weight throw, the men's shot put and the women's long jump respectively.Â
In the oval, the Blue Demons dominated in multiple sectors of the competition. Jarel Terry led the men in the 400m dash with a final time of 48.92. Darius Brown followed suit, taking first in the men's 60m hurdles.Â
Jetta Mays and Tori Carroll went head to head in the women's 60m dash. Both Blue Demons earned a final time of 7.57, but Mays ultimately clinched the first place spot and Carroll took silver.Â
Mays went on to take first again in the women's 200m dash with a final time of 24.59.Â
Cameron Attucks also conquered back-to-back first place victories in the men's 60m dash and the men's 200m dash.Â
Olivia Borowiak made her indoor debut and claimed victory in the women's 3,000m race with a final time of 9:43.50.
The men's 4x400m relay was the last triumph of the night. Jadon Johnson, Grant Fuller, Darius Brown and Jarel Terry took out the competition with a 3:53.67 time.Â
