DePaul Softball Announces 2023 Schedule

Blue Demons set to host 14 games at Cacciatore Stadium this spring
CHICAGO – DePaul softball announced the 2023 schedule on Thursday afternoon. The 52-game slate features contests against eight teams who advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2022 and 10 teams that finished in the top-100 of last season's RPI.
The Blue Demons will open the season with the third-annual DePaul Dome Tournament in Rosemont, Ill. set for Feb. 9-11. The 27-game event features 11 programs including Bowling Green, Creighton, Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Eastern Kentucky, Saint Louis, St. Thomas, Western Illinois, and Valparaiso.
After opening weekend, DePaul will hit the road the following three weekends for round-robin tournaments across the country. The Blue Demons travel to Tempe, Ariz. for the Littlewood Classic Feb. 15-17 before going downstate to Carbondale, Ill. for the Coach B Classic Feb. 25-26. The month of March will begin with the Palmer Park Clash, March 3-5, in Charlottesville, Va.
DePaul will open its BIG EAST schedule at Butler March 10-12 before jumping back to non-conference play the ensuing weekend at the John Cropp Classic in Lexington, Ky.
The Blue Demons will begin the home portion of their schedule on March 31 when Providence visits Chicago for a three-day conference series. Creighton, Seton Hall and Connecticut are also slated to make trips to Cacciatore Stadium.
Head coach Tracie Adix-Zins and Co. will play five midweek contests against regional opponents including home matchups with Northwestern and Northern Illinois.
The 2023 BIG EAST Tournament returns to Storrs, Conn. and Burrill Family Field for the second time in three seasons. New this season, the double-elimination tournament will expand to six participating institutions.
DePaul is coming off a 29-24 season in 2022 including a 16-8 record in BIG EAST play. The Blue Demons return 11 letterwinners from a season ago including three all-league selections while welcoming in seven newcomers to the program in September.
