Blue Demons and Golden Eagles meet for 39th time
CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer will hit the road for its final road match of the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 18 for a clash against longtime foe Marquette. First touch from Valley Fields is set for 7 p.m. with FloFC carrying the coverage.

- The Blue Demons head into Wednesday's match still in the hunt for a BIG EAST postseason berth with three matches remaining and eight league teams making the league tournament.
- DePaul sits 2-7-3 on the season and 0-4-1 in conference play after earning a point last weekend in a 1-1 draw versus Butler at Wish Field.
- Senior Marek Gonda provided the equalizer on Saturday in the 73rd minute after the Bulldogs broke open the scoreline just two minutes earlier. It was the eighth goal of Gonda's career and first of the season.
- Goalkeeper Gandhi Cruz matched his season-high with nine saves incluing five in the final 15 minutes of action. Cruz ranks second nationally for total saves with 71 in his junior campaign.
- Nathaniel Enriquez has recorded three points across the last three matches, scoring a goal against then-No. 25 UIC and providing an assist on the equalizer against Butler.
- Starting all 12 matches and playing every minute of game action in his sophomore campaign, center back Ethan Gordon is in line for ironman honors.
- Freshman forward Noeh Hernandez will rejoin the Blue Demons squad for Wednesday's match after earning his third cap in his third start with the Puerto Rican National Team over the weekend.
- Marquette is 7-5-1 on the 2023 campaign and 1-4-0 in BIG EAST play.
- The Golden Eagles were ranked as high as 13th in the national polls this season after starting the season 7-1-1 and have since dropped four consecutive matches.
- Forward Brooklyn Merl ranks fifth in the BIG EAST in goals (6) and points (15) on the year.
- MU has posted the third-highest amount of goals in the league in 2023 with 26.
- Goalkeeper Ludvig Maleberg as started all 13 matches for the Golden Eagles, owning a 1.08 goals against average and collecting 42 saves.
