Moser Reaches Round of 16 at ITA Midwest Regionals

Three Blue Demons picked up singles victories on day one
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – In a series of tough matches Thursday, DePaul secured three of six singles victories in the Round of 64 qualifying draw at the ITA Midwest Regionals. Among the standout performances, Sven Moser emerged as the sole Blue Demon to advance to the Round of 16, leading the way for DePaul on day one at Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center.
In his first taste of ITA Regionals this year, Leon Huck dominated Nicholas Jamison of Cleveland State, 6-2, 6-4. Shourya Verma also took down his Cleveland State counterpart Carl Gedlitschka by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
In a third opening-round Cleveland State victory, Moser controlled the tempo early, beating Ty Rothchild, 6-3, 6-4. Moser triumphed in the Round of 32 with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Sam Klein of NIU. Early Friday morning, Moser's hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals were halted after a heartbreaking loss to Wisconsin's Tomas Zlatohlavek, 6-4, 6-3.
