Men's Basketball Set to Open 2023-24 Season

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball officially opens the 2023-24 season, Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. C.T. against Purdue Fort Wayne inside Wintrust Arena.
The game will be broadcast on FS2 with announcers Lavall Jordan and Chris Vosters. DePaul's radio broadcast will be available on 670 The Score with Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine on the call.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul concluded its preseason slate with an exhibition contest against North Park where Blue Demons' newcomers made a splash in their first appearance in a DePaul jersey. Elijah Fisher was nearly flawless with 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting followed by double-digit scoring performances from Jeremiah Oden and Jaden Henley.
The Blue Demons will have eight newcomers look to make their official DePaul debut Tuesday evening, including five Division 1 transfers. The newcomers join four returners from last season's roster – Da'Sean Nelson, Caleb Murphy, Jalen Terry and K.T. Raimey.
DePaul is seeking its fifth-straight season opening win with an 86-13 record in all-time in season openers.
THE SERIES
Tuesday marks the first all-time meeting between the two programs. DePaul is 121-120 all-time against schools from the state of Indiana and 55-13 against current Horizon League schools.
SCOUTING PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Purdue Fort Wayne enters the 2023-24 campaign under head coach Jon Coffman, as he enters his 10th season at the helm of the program. Coffman and the Mastodons went 17-15 last season and look for their return to the postseason after attending the CBI in 2022.
The Horizon League slated Purdue Fort Wayne as eighth in the preseason poll as the Mastodons are faced with replacing its top four leading scorers from last season.
