DePaul defeated K-State on Friday night, 4-0
DEERFIELD, Ill. – The DePaul women's tennis team stopped a five match skid on Friday night with a 4-0 win over the Kansas State Wildcats.Â
DePaul (2-5) gained the early advantage after winning the doubles point. Yuliya Kizelbasheva and Hannah Smith teamed up to achieve their first doubles win as a pair, 6-4. Lenka Antonijevic and Eleanor Nobbs notched a 6-2 win to get the doubles point for the Blue Demons.
Yuliya Kizelbasheva took care of business on the No. 1 court with a win over Rozalia Gruszczynska 6-2, 6-4. Greta Carbone finished second on the No. 6 courts defeating Manami Ukita 6-4, 7-5. This was Carbone's first singles win in scarlet and blue.Â
Hannah Smith defeated Kansas State's Farhat Quamar on the No. 3 court after dropping the first set, 3-6. Smith's victory earned the winning point for the Blue Demons and Smith's first career singles win.Â
UP NEXT: The DePaul women's tennis team continues play in Deerfield, Ill. with a BIG EAST matchup on Sunday, Feb. 19. The Butler Bulldogs come to town with first serve at 5 p.m.
