DePaul earned a 6-1 win on Saturday afternoon
OMAHA, Neb. – The DePaul women's tennis team won their fourth straight match on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 decision over the Omaha Mavericks (4-8).
DePaul (5-5) won the doubles point, earning an advantage as they went into singles play. Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith took down their opponent on the No. 2 court, 6-3. Yuliya Kizelbasheva and Maddie Yergler teamed up for the first time on the doubles courts, earning a 6-0 win.
The Mavericks were able to tie the match, 1-1, after edging out a win on the No. 1 singles court. The Blue Demons responded by winning the final five singles matchups.
Maddie Yergler defeated Di Giulio 6-4, 6-1 to earn her first singles win of the season. Eleanor Nobbs finished third after splitting sets with Zoe Adkins on the No. 2 courts, winning in a tiebreaker set. Greta Carbone won the fourth point for DePaul on a straight set victory of Omaha's VanPelt.
Valentina Martin and Hannah Smith played out their sets, both earning wins to help solidify the win for the Blue Demons.
UP NEXT: The DePaul women's tennis team takes on BIG EAST foe Creighton on Sunday morning. First serve is set for 11 a.m. from Hanscom Tennis Center in Omaha, Neb.
