Blue Demons drop first match since Feb. 11
TAMPA, Fla. – The DePaul women's tennis team dropped their match against the No. 60 South Florida Bulls on Saturday afternoon. The 5-2 defeat is the first loss for the Blue Demons since Feb. 11, ending an eight-match win streak.Â
In doubles play, Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith battled to get a 6-3 win on the No. 2 court, but the Blue Demons ultimately dropped the point.Â
The Bulls won the first three singles matchups to earn the decisive four points. On the No. 6 court, Maddie Yergler won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3, to get the Blue Demons on the board. Greta Carbone ended the day getting a win over USF's Simme in a third set.Â
UP NEXT: The DePaul women's tennis team will take on BIG EAST foe Xavier on Friday, March 31. First serve from Cincinnati, Ohio is set for 12 p.m. CT.
