DePaul Drops Match to Xavier

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The DePaul women's tennis (9-7, 4-1 BIG EAST) team fell to Xavier (9-6, 1-0 BIG EAST) on Friday behind a 5-2 decision.

DePaul grabbed a win on the No. 2 doubles court but was unable to snag the point. Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith teamed up to earn the 6-3 win over Xavier's Anna Roggenburk and Imani Graham. Carbone and Smith move to 8-3 in dual play, extending their win streak to six-straight.

The Blue Demons were able to earn points in singles play, on the No. 5 and 6 courts. Greta Carbone defeated Xavier's Abigail Siminski on the No. 5 court in a third set tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 10-7. Carbone won her seventh singles match of the spring and second in a row.

Maddie Yergler won the second point of the day for DePaul on the No. 6 court. Yergler took down Blessing Nwaozuzu, 6-4, 6-1, to move to 6-4 in dual play.
