Flames bested DePaul, 4-3, in regular season finale
CHICAGO – The DePaul women's tennis team dropped their regular season finale at UIC on Friday afternoon, 4-3.Â
DePaul (11-9) got out to an early 1-0 lead when they claimed the doubles point. Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith reunited on the No. 2 court, taking down Malazonia and von Dungern 7-6. On the No. 3 court, Yuliya Kizelbasheva and Maddie Yergler defeated the duo of Nikolopoulou and Ryan, 6-0.Â
Greta Carbone moves to 8-4 in dual play after a straight set victory over Zara Ryan on the No. 4 court. Valentina Martin grabbed the third point for the Blue Demons in a straight set victory over Paula Rodriguez Gregoris.Â
UP NEXT: The DePaul women's tennis team will have a week off before beginning postseason play at the BIG EAST Championships in Cayce, S.C. Coverage of the tournament will begin on Thursday, April 20.
