DePaul Softball Selected Fourth in BIG EAST Preseason Coaches’ Poll

CHICAGO - DePaul Softball was picked to finish fourth in the preseason BIG EAST Coaches' poll, as announced by the conference. The poll is voted on by the league's nine head coaches, whom are not allowed to rank their own team.
The Blue Demons earned 40 points to take the fourth-place spot. DePaul follows behind Villanova, the preseason favorite, UConn and Seton Hall who took the top-three places.
DePaul is coming off of their 17th consecutive trip to the BIG EAST Tournament after finishing the 2023 season 19-32 overall and 9-15 in BIG EAST play. The Blue Demons return 14 letterwinners from the 2023 season, including All-BIG EAST selection Brooke Johnson. Head coach Tracie Adix-Zins has the addition of Karla Ross to her staff as associate head coach. The Blue Demons also added six newcomers to the 2024 roster, including three transfers and three freshmen.
The Blue Demons open their 2024 campaign Friday, Feb. 9 at the UNCW Tournament in Wilmington, N.C. Opening weekend will see DePaul face Furman, UNCW, Queens University of Charlotte, Northern Kentucky and North Dakota State.
DePaul will begin BIG EAST play at Cacciatore Stadium as they host Georgetown, March 8-10.
