Blue Demons Golf Adds Grad Transfer Schaefer for 2024

CHICAGO – DePaul men's golf has signed experienced grad transfer, Hank Schaefer, for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Schaefer, originally from Orlando, Fla., joins DePaul after three seasons at Mount St. Mary's.
A three-time all-conference honoree, Schaefer was the runner-up at the 2023 MAAC Championship with a three-day score of 211 (-5). He played in all nine tournaments and 24 rounds throughout the season, finishing the year with a 73.79 scoring average.
As a sophomore, he led the team with a 74.96 average across 10 events and 26 rounds and had a team-best performance in the NEC Championships with a 224 (+9) for fifth place. Schaefer played in 11 rounds in his freshman campaign, finishing with an average of 78 strokes. As a freshman, he was a finalist for Conference Rookie of the Year after tying for 17th at the NEC Championships.
He is also a two-time NCAA Division 1 Academic GCAA All-American and has totaled 13 top-25 finishes during his career. Schaefer also has an extensive amateur career as well with four top-35 finishes, including 15th at the PNGA Amateur Championship, ID.
Schaefer will join the Blue Demons following the 2023-24 season and join a roster that is set to return five players.
