Blue Demons look to break tie with Huskies in conference standings
STORRS, Conn. – DePaul women's soccer heads to UConn for a high-stakes matchup with the Huskies on Thursday, Oct. 24, in Storrs, Conn. The match at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium is set for a 6 p.m. CT kickoff, with live coverage available on FloSports and the BIG EAST Digital Network.
DePaul (4-6-5, 2-2-3 BIG EAST) comes off its first loss in five matches, falling 3-1 to Creighton on Sunday, Oct. 20. After starting the season 0-4-1, the Blue Demons have flipped the script, securing four wins and dropping only two of their last 10 matches. DePaul's two conference victories came against then-No. 18 Georgetown and Seton Hall, leaving the team tied for sixth in the BIG EAST standings with UConn and Providence.
UConn (8-4-4, 2-3-3 BIG EAST) opened its non-conference schedule strong, riding a six-match win streak into BIG EAST play. The Huskies claimed league victories over Marquette and Providence, currently holding a tiebreaker advantage over the Friars in the conference standings.
