Johnson-Matthews Collects BIG EAST Honor Roll Accolade

CHICAGO – Taylor Johnson-Matthews was selected to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after leading the Blue Demons to a pair of wins last week. It marks the first weekly honor of Johnson-Matthews' career.
The junior guard averaged a team best 19.5 points per game across the two contests in addition to shooting 56-percent from the field including a 58-percent clip from three-point range.
In a 76-64 victory over Southern to close out non-conference play, Johnson-Matthews set a career-high with five three-point field goals on six attempts (.833) totaling 17 points to go along with five rebounds.
To open BIG EAST play, the Cleveland, Ohio native recorded her Division I career-best with 22 points on 50-percent shooting to lead DePaul to a 66-43 win over Butler. Saturday's outing was her 11th double-digit scoring effort of the season and sixth in a row.
Johnson-Matthews is averaging 13.3 points through the first two months of the season which ranks second for the Blue Demons.
DePaul returnsto action on Sunday, Dec. 29 when Marquette visits Wintrust Arena. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. with live action streamed on FloCollege.
