Blue Demons Begin Indoor Season at Notre Dame

Track and field readies for first event
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – DePaul track and field opens its 2024-25 campaign in South Bend, Ind., at the Blue & Gold Invitational on Friday, Dec. 6. Meyo Field at the Loftus Sports Center, the largest NCAA-legal indoor track in the nation, is the site for Friday's competition at Notre Dame.
Action kicks off at 12 p.m. CT, with DePaul student-athletes competing in the long jump, weight throw, shot put, and high jump to begin the invitational. Five newcomers will make their Blue Demon debut in field events, including freshmen Jaiden Gary, Ashley Noel, and Laila Richardson, sophomore Olivia Austin, and junior Quinton Boyd.
DePaul athletes will also compete in various running events, including the 1000m, 400m, 300m, 60m, and 4x400m relay. Making their track debut for the scarlet and blue are freshmen Harper Bryan, Amaru Mazibuko, Sade Miller, and Jordan Reddick, along with sophomore Tyce Smith, junior John Bush, and graduate students Dustin Hudak and Demetrius Rolle.
DePaul's roster features 20 total newcomers, while 48 letterwinners and 16 All-BIG EAST honorees return from the 2023-24 season. Among the returners is Darius Brown, the indoor and outdoor Most Outstanding Track Performer at the BIG EAST Championships. Other notable returners include Jaiah Hopf, Kash Allen, Charlotte Anderson, Jetta Mays, and Alex Bernstein, who qualified for the 2024 NCAA Championships West Preliminary Rounds.

On Friday, Dec. 13, DePaul will host the Blue Demon Holiday Classic at Gately Indoor in Chicago, Ill. The Blue Demons will also send select student-athletes to the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Mass.
