Blue Demons Host Butler Saturday

CHICAGO – The DePaul men's basketball team is set to host Butler, Saturday, March 2 in the teams penultimate home game of the 2023-24 season. The game is slated for an 11 a.m. CT tip at Wintrust Arena on FS1. Matt Schumacker and Nick Bahe have the Fox Sports call, with Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine with the radio call on 670 The Score.
DePaul (3-25, 0-17 BIG EAST) is coming off a road contest at Xavier. DePaul was led in that game by Elijah Fisher, who notched his fifth-consecutive game with 10 or more points. Additionally, against the Musketeers Jalen Terry had a balanced all-around performance with 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. The senior has a 16-game streak with a made three-pointer, the seventh longest active streak in the BIG EAST.
Butler (16-13, 7-11 BIG EAST) enters Saturday's game following a five-game skid against Marquette, Creighton, Villanova, Seton Hall and St. John's. The Bulldogs have been led by Pierre Brooks II who has a team-high 14.8 points per game. As a team, Butler ranks 11th nationally with a 78.7 free throw percentage led by DJ Davis who leads the nation individually with a 96.7 free throw percentage.
Butler leads the all-time series, 20-7, including the last eight meetings. Five of the last six in the series have been decided by less than 10 points. The Blue Demons fell, 74-60, in the first meeting of the teams earlier this year despite a 15-point performance by Terry.
The Blue Demons host St. John's on Tuesday, March 5 for the final home game of the season. The game is set for an 8 p.m. CT tip.
