Bibianna Rodriguez records second multi-hit game of the season
FULLERTON, CALIF. - DePaul softball dropped its Friday night contest to No. 13 Florida, 12-0.
Sophomore shortstop Bibianna Rodriguez led the offense for DePaul (3-12) going 2-for-2 with two singles. This marks Rodriguez's second multi-hit game of the season.
Baylee Cosgrove and Riley Pool added to the offensive mix, notching singles of their own in the third and fourth innings, respectively.Â
Katey Pierce (0-4) started for the Blue Demons, earning her fifth start of the season. Bella Nigey and Brenna Smith both came in as relief, with Smith pitching two innings and giving up three runs on two hits.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Florida (19-2) scored three early with a home run to left field to take the lead before adding another run to go up 4-0 after the first inning. The Gators tacked on five runs in the second to go up 9-0. The No. 13 team in the country added its final three runs between the third and fourth innings.
UP NEXT
The Blue Demons continue play at the Judi Garman Classic, meeting No. 18 UCLA and No. 17 Texas A&M on Saturday. First pitches are set for 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. CT, respectively.
