Shourya Verma, Jona Gitschel Selected for Weekly Award

Pair earns third conference recognition this season
CHICAGO – Shourya Verma and Jona Gitschel were selected BIG EAST Men's Doubles Team of the Week on Monday afternoon, as announced by the conference.
In DePaul's final match of the season against Xavier on Saturday, April 13, Verma and Gitschel outdueled Cahill/Mosberger at the No. 1 position to clinch the doubles point for the Blue Demons. DePaul went on to take down Xavier in a 5-2 decision, largely credited to the remarkable performance by the pair.
The outstanding duo claimed their third doubles victory versus BIG EAST opponents and moved to 8-5 on the season at No. 1 for the Blue Demons. This honor marks their third recognition as Team of the Week this season.
During the dual season, two DePaul men's tennis doubles pairs, Verma/Gitschel and Leon Huck/Sven Moser, collectively earned half of the twelve weekly conference Team of the Week awards.

The Blue Demons hit the road for the BIG EAST tournament in Cayce, S.C., April 19-21. Match times and seeding are to be determined.
