Softball Wraps Up Home Play With Illinois

CHICAGO - DePaul softball wraps up home play for the 2024 season as the Illinois Fighting Illini come to town on Tuesday, April 23. First pitch from Cacciatore Stadium is set for 3 p.m. CT with coverage on Marquee Sports Network.

BLUE DEMON BITS
Brooke Johnson paces the Blue Demons offense with a .360 batting average, 40 hits, 21 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .676. Johnson's slugging percentage ranks second in the conference.
Riley Pool is continuing her best season of her career behind a .327 batting average with 14 runs on 33 hits. Pool is second on the team in slugging percentage (.446) and has drawn 21 walks.
Graduate student Brenna Smith leads the DePaul pitchers with a staff-best ERA of 3.31. Smith has thrown 74.0 innings and given up 52 runs while striking out 41.
DePaul is fourth in the BIG EAST in stolen bases per game (1.08)

ABOUT ILLINOIS
Illinois enters the matchup with a record of 18-27
Kelly Ryono leads the offense with a .353 batting average, 31 runs, 54 hits and a .614 slugging percentage.
Tori McQueen owns a staff-best 3.21 ERA for the Illini, throwing 144.0 innings through 30 appearances. McQueen has given up 146 hits and 75 runs while tallying 137 strikeouts.

DePaul leads the all-time series, 14-11-1. The two teams last met on April 25 at Illinois when the Illini won, 5-0.
