Four Blue Demons Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Leon Huck, Sven Moser, Pablo Torres Almeida, Shourya Verma move to national ballot
CHICAGO – Four members of the DePaul men's tennis team have been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Leon Huck, Sven Moser, Pablo Torres Almeida, and Shourya Verma were each recognized for their outstanding academic performance.
To be nominated for the CSC Academic ballot, student-athletes must appear in 50% of matches and earn a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
Leon Huck appeared in twenty matches for the Blue Demons this season, sporting a 10-10 record in singles and 14-6 in doubles. The Freiburg, Germany, native represented DePaul men's tennis as a team captain, played fifteen of twenty matches at the No. 1 singles position, and earned his second-straight unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team honor. Huck earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration in 2023, and will complete his Masters of Business Administration, while also holding a 3.85 GPA during his graduate studies.
Sven Moser carried an 11-8 singles record, to go along with a 14-6 doubles clip in dual action. His eleven singles victories were the third-most by a Blue Demon this season. The Bern, Switzerland, native is majoring in Psychology and currently holds a team-high 3.991 GPA. Notably, Moser and Huck earned three BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week honors to go along with their 12-4 record as a duo.
Pablo Torres Almeida saw action in sixteen matches for DePaul, holding a 13-3 record singles. Torres Almeida once held a ten-match win streak, the longest of any Blue Demon this season. Torres Almeida also earned his first All-BIG EAST First Team recognition, capping off his impressive season. The Gran Canaria, Spain, native is majoring in Business and Entrepreneurship and holds a 3.683 GPA.
Shourya Verma compiled a 10-10 dual record in singles and 10-7 in doubles. The Toronto, Canada, native played almost exclusively at the No. 1 doubles spot, earning three BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week honors, and going undefeated against BIG EAST opponents. His five victories on the No. 2 court marked the most by any Blue Demon this year. Verma is majoring in Marketing and carries a 3.765 GPA.
With their selection to the All-District team, all four members of the Blue Demons will advance to the national ballot for All-America honors.
