
DePaul Hosts Creighton Tuesday Night

CHICAGO – Following a Friday night road victory, DePaul men's basketball team returns to Wintrust Arena to play host to Creighton, Tuesday, Jan. 21. The game is slated for an 8 p.m. CT tip on FS1 with Chris Vosters and Nick Bahe on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have DePaul's radio broadcast on Sirius XM and DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (10-9, 1-7 BIG EAST) snapped a serious of streaks with its 73-68 win at Georgetown on Friday, including DePaul's first regular season conference victory since Jan. 18, 2023 and first road win since Dec. 3, 2022. The Blue Demons were led by CJ Gunn with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting, followed by Layden Blocker and NJ Benson also in double-digit scoring. Benson had three blocks, marking his fifth-straight game with a rejection and fourth-straight with multiple.
The Blue Demons shot 46.7 percent from three, its season best against a BIG EAST opponent. Gunn and Blocker both made two, while Benson also recorded his first career make from deep.

The overall series belongs to Creighton with a 30-16 advantage, including the last 20-straight. DePaul's last win in the series came on Jan. 17, 2015 in Omaha with a 70-60 victory.
DePaul head coach Chris Holtmann is 4-3 all-time against the Bluejays, the most recent being Nov. 15, 2018 where Holtmann's Ohio State Buckeyes won 69-60 on the road.
SCOUTING CREIGHTON
Creighton (12-6, 5-2 BIG EAST) comes to Chicago riding high from a road victory against #14 UConn where Jamiya Neal had a career-high 24 points. The Bluejays have won five of their last six games, including its last two on the road. As a team, Creighton commits the fewest fouls per game (10.4) and is fifth nationally with 29.33 defensive rebounds per contest.
Ryan Kalkbrenner has a team-best 17.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. The three-time league defensive player of the year, once again ranks among the nation's best shot blockers with 2.88 per game. The Bluejays point guard, Steven Ashworth, leads the nation with a free throw percentage of 97.0. Ashworth also currently leads the conference with 6.8 assists per game, just ahead of DePaul's Conor Enright with 6.7.
