INDIANAPOLIS – DePaul women's basketball climbed back from an 11-point fourth quarter deficit to take down Butler 74-67 in overtime on Sunday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Graduate forward Jorie Allen willed the Blue Demons to victory with a career-high 34 points in 45 minutes of action.

How It Happened
It was a slow start for both sides as the teams went into the under-five media timeout with a 2-1 score in favor of the Bulldogs. Allen scored the final six points of the period for DePaul as the Blue Demons led 9-8 after one.
After Butler cashed back-to-back three-point field goals to reclaim the lead and momentum midway through the second quarter, the Blue Demons answered right back with a pair of layups in 30 seconds from Sumer Lee and Allen to jump back in front. The Bulldogs used a 6-0 run in a minute stretch to take a one-point halftime lead, 25-24.
Butler (12-10, 2-7 BIG EAST) shot 69-percent in the third quarter while going 6-for-7 from the line to claim a 52-44 lead headed into the final 10 minutes. McGuff had 12 points in the quarter while Allen led DePaul with 10 points of her own.
The Bulldogs took its largest lead of the game with 5:12 remaining in regulation on a three-pointer from Lily Zeinstra before DePaul used a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to come within a point. Zeinstra knocked in a couple of free throws to stretch the Bulldogs lead back to four which made way for Clarke to hit a corner three to bring DePaul back within one with :50 seconds remaining. Butler went 1-for-2 at the free throw line the next trip down the floor to regain a one-possession advantage but it was none other than Allen to score on a lefty hook shot through a double-team to tie the game at 65. The Bulldogs had a chance to win the game but a three from Karsyn Norman was off the mark as time expired.
In overtime, Butler scored the first two points of the period with a pair of free throws and never scored again. The Blue Demons closed out the game on a 9-0 run to claim its first overtime victory since 2019.
