DePaul welcomes BIG EAST rival UConn to campus
CHICAGO – After its setback against Creighton over the weekend, DePaul women's soccer remains in Chicago to face UConn on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Wish Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT on Marquee Sports Network, with Alex Cohen and Brea Lassek on the call.
Led by Sienna Gonzales' goals in consecutive matches, DePaul (4-10-1, 1-5-1 BIG EAST) enters the midweek contest after earning a 2-1 road win at Seton Hall before falling to Creighton on Saturday. The victory over the Pirates marked the Blue Demons' first conference win of the campaign and their 13th consecutive result over Seton Hall dating back to 2011.
UConn (9-3-3, 5-1-2 BIG EAST) arrives in Chicago unbeaten in its last two outings after back-to-back 2-0 victories against Butler and Villanova. The Huskies, who sit third in the BIG EAST standings, have outscored opponents 8-2 over their last five matches, recording four shutouts in that span. Freshman forward Se-Hanna Mars leads the charge after scoring her first career brace against Villanova, while senior captain Chioma Okafor continues to pace the conference with 11 goals and 24 points.
