Blue Demons Head to Peoria to Face Bradley Wednesday

Two teams meet for the first time since 2014

DePaul is off to a 1-1 start on the season and is coming off an 85-78 setback to Mountain West preseason favorite UNLV on Sunday afternoon.
Redshirt-freshman Ally Timm was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon after averaging a team-best 20.5 points per game which ranked third in the BIG EAST after the first week of the season. The Menomonee Falls, Wis. native shot 55-percent from long range while adding 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest. It was DePaul's first freshman of the week honor since the 2022-23 season.
Junior guard Kate Novik has produced in all facets in her first two games as a Blue Demon. The transfer from Morehead State averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 assist, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks through the first two games all while shooting 50-percent from the field and 62.5-percent from long range.
Natiah Nelson has also been a bright spot for DePaul, stepping into the starting role as a sophomore. The guard/forward recorded a career-high in scoring in back-to-back games to begin the season and is averaging 15.0 points per game on 70-percent shooting from the field in addition to a team-best 10.5 rebounds per game.
As a team, the Blue Demons are averaging 85.0 points per game and rank 10th nationally in three-point percentage shooting 45-percent (18-40) from long range through the first two games. DePaul has forced opponents into 23.5 turnovers a game which ranks among BIG EAST teams.
Scouting Bradley
The Braves are 1-0 on the season after a 94-33 win over NAIA program, Judson. In the opener, Bradley shot 40-percent from long range and connected on 13 three-pointers. Freshman guard Maya Foz posted a team-best 14 points against Judson while sophomore Lila Posthuma added 11 of her own. Last season, Bradley was 14-19 including a 7-13 mark in league play. Kate Popovec-Goss is in her four season leading the Braves.
Series Stuff
The two teams face off for the first time in over a decade Wednesday in what will be the eighth all-time meeting. DePaul leads the series 5-2 and has won three of the last four matchups. In Peoria, however, the Braves are 2-1.
The series first began in December of 1978 while the most recent game between the two sides was November 18, 2014.
Bradley is the second of three Missouri Valley Conference teams DePaul will face in the non-conference slate.
