CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball head coach Jill M. Pizzotti announced the signing of Mikaia Litza, a standout guard from Wauwatosa East High School, to join the Blue Demons for the 2026-27 season.
"We're excited to welcome Mikaia Litza to DePaul," said Pizzotti. "Mikaia is a dynamic, three-level guard with great vision, a natural feel for the game, and the ability to score in a variety of ways. She comes from a strong program under coach Mary Merg at 2025 State Champion Wauwatosa East, as well as a nationally competitive AAU team in Mac Irvin Fire. We expect her to make an immediate impact and are thrilled to add another talented player from Wisconsin."
Litza brings a decorated prep résumé to Lincoln Park, having led Wauwatosa East to a 29-1 record and the 2024-25 Wisconsin Division 2 State Championship during her junior season. The Red Raiders also captured sectional and regional titles, capping off one of the most successful campaigns in program history.
A proven winner, Litza helped guide her team to a 23-6 mark and a state semifinal appearance in 2023-24, along with sectional and regional championships. As a sophomore in 2022-23, she helped Wauwatosa East secure another regional title while continuing to develop into one of the top guards in the state.
Individually, Litza has been a three-year varsity starter and two-time Wisconsin Division 2 First Team All-State selection. She is also a two-time Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year, earning three all-conference nods.
Through her high school career, Litza has totaled more than 1,276 points, 400 assists, 492 rebounds, and 217 steals, while setting multiple program records including Wauwatosa East's single-season assist record (200) and career assist record (400+).
During her junior campaign, Litza shot 52 percent from the field, earning another First Team All-State nod and repeating as the GMC Player of the Year.
Litza will join the Blue Demons as part of DePaul's 2026 recruiting class, bringing leadership, playmaking, and championship experience to the program.
