Blue Demons Host Gardner-Webb Tuesday

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball looks to get back on track Tuesday as the Blue Demons host Gardner-Webb at Wintrust Arena. The game tips off at 7 p.m. on ESPN+, with Evan Stockton and Jerel McNeal on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine have the radio broadcast on SiriusXM and the DePaul Blue Demons app.

Through the first four games, DePaul is led in scoring by CJ Gunn who is averaging 15.0 points per game. NJ Benson has contributed 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

LAST TIME OUT
DePaul went toe-to-toe with a talented Northwestern squad in a battle that featured 17 lead changes and 14 ties. The Wildcats eventually came away with the two-point, 81-79, victory. Despite the loss, the Blue Demons saw strong performances from many young players – including freshman Kruz McClure. McClure led the team with 15 points behind an 8-of-10 performance at the free throw line.

The Blue Demons were also the first team to score 79+ points in a non-conference game against Northwestern in three years.

SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
Gardner-Webb (0-4) is still in search of its first win this season after dropping its most recent contest, Saturday, to Elon 95-84. Jacob Hudson is the team's leading scorer with 15.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

THE SERIES
Tuesday marks just the second all-time meeting between the two teams, and the first time since 2012. Gardner-Webb leads the series with a victory in the 2012 matchup, where they were led by none other than current DePaul head coach, Chris Holtmann.
