Talented class features four young standouts
CHICAGO – DePaul golf head coach Ryan Jamison has announced his first signing class for the Blue Demons program, set to arrive on campus for the 2026-27 season. The class features a talented group of four players that includes three who are currently ranked in the European Golf Rankings and Colorado State Player of the Year.
Finlay Eager | Bangor, Northern Ireland
Eager is one of Ireland's brightest young talents, combining consistent national team success with high level championship results across Europe. In 2025, he represented Ireland in a tight victory over Spain and advanced to the final qualifying round of the Open Championship. In 2024, Eager earned four national caps in the Cardigan Cup, U18 Quadrangular, European Boys Team Championship and the Boys Home Internationals. He rounded out his 2024 season with a 10th place finish at the Irish Boys Championship and one of the last-16 finish at the South of Ireland Championships.
He first represented Ireland in 2022, finishing 17th at the Italian International U16 Championships. In 2023, Eager represented Ireland in a number of events including the U16 Quadrangular, European Young Masters and Ireland vs. England U16. He had several standout results beginning with reaching the semifinals of the Irish Boys and an eighth-place finish at the Irish U16. Eager also won both the Ulster U16 Open and Close Championships, before finishing 19th at the Italian International U16.
"Signing Finlay is a massive moment for DePaul golf," said Jamison. "He brings international experience, toughness and a competitive maturity beyond his years. He's exactly the type of player who elevates the standard of a program, and we believe he'll make an immediate impact on our roster and the trajectory of our program as we build toward becoming a top contender in the BIG EAST."
Frederik Richardson | Trondheim, Norway
Richardson comes to DePaul as one of Norway's top young golfers, rising through the national ranks with a strong record both at home and across Europe. A member of Team Norway, Richardson was selected for the 2025 European Boys' Team and has established himself as a consistent performer on elite junior stages.
He has recorded eight top-five finishes across the Srixon Junior Tour and Garmin Men's Tour, showcasing his ability to compete against older and stronger fields. He also added a standout top-10 finish at the Spanish Boys U18 Championship, reinforcing his status as a legitimate European talent.
"Frederik is a program-changing recruit for DePaul," said Jamison. "He is the highest-ranked European player we've ever signed and his resume speaks for itself. His poise, discipline and international experience immediately elevate the standard of our roster. Adding a player of Fredrik's caliber is a massive step forward for our recruiting class and the long-term vision of DePaul golf."
Hunter Simmons | Grand Junction, Colo. | Grand Junction HS
Simmons signs with DePaul with a strong record against elite junior competition across the United States. In 2025, he posted two top-10 finishes in COPGA Cup events. Additionally, he captured the 4A Colorado Individual State Championships and was named the 2025 4A CHSAA Player of the Year at Grand Junction High School.
As a high school junior, Simmons finished in the top-11 at the Rocky Mountain Open (Amateur) and secured a second-place finish in the junior division of the Korn Ferry Ascendent Qualifier.
"Hunter is the type of student-athlete who raises the standard the moment he walks into the room," said Jamison. "His competitiveness, maturity and ability to perform in big moments will have an immediate impact on our roster. He's the perfect fit for what we're building at DePaul."
Adrian Larsson | Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Natively from Sweden, Larsson now lives and trains in Dubai and is rapidly establishing himself as one of the top young Scandinavian golfers competing internationally. Larsson's recent run of form in the Middle East has been outstanding, posting a string of low rounds (71, 70, 70, 66, 70, 78, 73, 72, 69) and was highlighted by a 66 that stood out as one of the strongest scores of the season.
Larsson transformed his development, now surrounded by world-class facilities and year-round competition, building a competitive resume that includes winning the Sharjah Amateur Championship in Dubai. He also won the Scratch League, competing in the Top Division, and received a nomination as an Els Club Ambassador as part of the CH3 Elite Golf Program.
"Adrian is wired the right way," said Jamison. "His discipline, daily habits and the way he thinks about improvement separates him from most players his age. He brings a level of focus and competitive maturity that strengthens ever part of our program. Adrian's drive and mindset are exactly what we want leading DePaul golf into the future."
