Tigers Overwhelm DePaul Sunday

Michelle Ojo leads DePaul with 10 points
PRINCETON, N.J. – DePaul women's basketball fell 71-41 to Princeton on the road Sunday afternoon. The Tigers' stifling defense kept the Blue Demons off balance, holding the visitors to a season-low 41 points on 23-percent shooting.
Graduate forward Michelle Ojo was the lone Blue Demon in double figures, finishing with 10 points. Freshman Gina Davorijia added a career-high seven points in the first start of her collegiate career. Kate Novik, Ally Timm and Alayna West chipped in six points each, with Novik also pulling down a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Devin Hagemann filled the stat sheet with five rebounds, four assists and three steals in 33 minutes.
Defensively, DePaul tallied 10 steals, marking its third game this season with double-digit takeaways.
Princeton's Ashley Chea led all scorers with 22 points, knocking down six three-pointers. The Tigers recorded 13 blocks and eight steals on the afternoon.
How It Happened
Princeton (7-1) opened the game on a 12-2 run as DePaul struggled to convert early, starting 1-for-10 from the field. The Blue Demons held the Tigers to one field goal over the final 3:30 of the quarter but trailed 17-8 after 10 minutes.
After DePaul scored the first basket of the second quarter, Princeton countered with a 12-2 stretch to build a 29-12 advantage. The Blue Demons responded with a strong finish to the half, outscoring the Tigers 13-5 in the final four minutes to cut the deficit to 37-25 at the break.
Offense was limited in the third, with DePaul's first field goal of the period coming at the 2:30 mark. Ojo provided a brief spark with a personal 6-0 run, but Princeton extended its lead to 54-34 entering the fourth.
Davorijia scored five of DePaul's seven points in the final quarter.
