DePaul Hosts Stonehill Friday in Opening Week

Blue Demons continue season opening homestand
CHICAGO – Following a season-opening victory on Monday, the DePaul men's basketball team returns to action Friday, Nov. 7 against Stonehill. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. tip from Wintrust Arena in the first meeting in history between the two programs.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul opened the season with a 30-point victory over Chicago State, 92-62, for the team's largest season opening win since 2012. The Blue Demons had a balanced attack with all 12 active players registering points and a rebound. NJ Benson and Layden Blocker led DePaul with 16 points apiece, including a double-double from Benson with 10 rebounds. Théo Pierre-Justin also had a career night with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting. As a team, DePaul registered 21 assists and 12 steals.
The Blue Demons scoring offense and assists both ranked second in the BIG EAST through season opening games.
SCOUTING STONEHILL
Stonehill (1-0) also opened their season Monday with a 100-48 victory over Division III Thomas College. The Skyhawks were led by 19 points off the bench from Pearse McGuinn in addition to seven rebounds.
As a team, Stonehill was picked to finish third in the NEC Preseason Poll after finishing the 2024-25 season 15-17 overall. Hermann Koffi was named Preseason All-Conference after a standout freshman season where he earned Second Team All-NEC after averaging 9.4 points per game. The Skyhawks are led by alumnus Chris Kraus, entering his 13th season at the helm of the program. Kraus ranks third all-time for most wins by a head coach at Stonehill.

DePaul is back in action Tuesday, Nov. 11 against Buffalo. The Blue Demons will host the Bulls in a 7 p.m. tip on ESPN+ at Wintrust Arena.
