
Track and Field Earns Four Titles on Day Two of BIG EAST Indoor Championships

Brown, Gary, Miller, Rolle secure gold
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field closed out the BIG EAST Indoor Championships with four individual BIG EAST titles, along with a pair of school records from freshman Sade Miller in the women's 60m dash and the women's 4x400m relay team. The Blue Demons also secured two top-four team finishes on the weekend, highlighted by success and growth for an experienced squad.
Capping off a stellar weekend, Demetrius Rolle secured the BIG EAST title in the men's 60m, crossing the line in 6.73 to complete a championship run following his school-record performance in the prelims on Friday. Miller matched his dominance on the women's side, sprinting to victory in the 60m final with a school-record 7.46. With a time of 7.61 in the 60m hurdles, Darius Brown delivered another gold-medal performance, while Jaiden Gary launched 17.74m in the men's shot put to claim a conference title of his own. The women's 4x400m relay team of Kayliah Motes, Sonja Nagle, Claire Dunn, and Nadja Moll also made history, placing third with a school-record time of 3:42.12.
In the field events, the women's squad had a strong showing, led by Jaiah Hopf's runner-up finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.86m. Eveline Reno delivered a pair of standout performances, landing on the podium in third place with a personal-best 11.99m in the triple jump before following it up with a fourth-place finish in the high jump at 1.65m. In the shot put, Kash Allen earned a second-place finish with a throw of 14.54m.
The men's field athletes made their mark with multiple podium finishes. Patrick Diakite cleared a personal-best 2.01m in the high jump to secure third place, adding to DePaul's strong performances in the vertical events. Gary's BIG EAST title in the shot put led a solid effort in the throws.
On the track, Rolle added to his standout performance in the sprints, securing first place in the 60m finals after setting a school record in the prelims. Brown delivered another winning effort in the hurdles, taking the conference title with a commanding performance in the final. Damian Rodriguez placed third in the mile, while Dustin Hudak secured fourth in the 800m. With a time of 21.71, Dominic Cole claimed a fourth-place finish in the 200m to add to the Blue Demons' point total. In the hurdles, Paul Goins earned a podium finish in the 60m hurdles with a third-place time of 8.04.
At the conclusion of the BIG EAST Indoor Championships, both DePaul squads finished inside the top four. The men's team placed third with 90 points, trailing only Connecticut (236.5) and Villanova (113), while the women's team secured a fourth-place finish with 91 points, just behind St. John's (93), Georgetown (112), and Connecticut (189).
