VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – DePaul track and field's Darius Brown is set for his second consecutive NCAA Indoor National Championships appearance and third NCAA Championships appearance overall, March 14-15. This season's event, hosted by Norfolk State University, will take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va., marking the first time the championships have been held in the city.
Brown will compete in the men's 60-meter hurdles Semifinal at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, March 14, with fans able to stream the event on ESPN+. He will line up in heat one (of two), lane one (of eight), with the top two from each heat plus the next four best times advancing to the final. Should he advance, he will race in the Final on Saturday, March 15, at 5:40 p.m. CT.
Brown opened the season with a standout performance at the Blue Demon Holiday Invite, setting a personal best of 6.75 in the 60m dash. He followed that with another personal record at the Blue & Gold Invite, winning the 300m dash in 33.28—setting a new DePaul program record in the event.
On Jan. 25, he competed in the 60m hurdles for the first time this season at the Notre Dame Invitational, running 7.61 in the prelims to tie his own school record and rank eighth nationally at the time. That effort earned him BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week honors on Jan. 28, marking the fifth conference weekly award of his career.
Brown matched his 7.61 time on March 1 at the 2025 BIG EAST Championships, where he took gold and set a BIG EAST Indoor Championship record.
In his first NCAA Indoor Championships appearance in 2024, Brown placed seventh in the nation in the 60m hurdles, clocking a 7.63 in the semifinal to secure the fifth-fastest qualifying spot and earn First Team All-American honors, making him DePaul track and field's 12th All-American.
